Tinubu Is A Riddle That Its Inception Demystification Is Now His Open Folly
Nigeria’s economy is expected to expand at a slower pace in the third quarter of 2025, with GDP growth projected to dip to 3.9 per cent from the 4.23 per cent recorded in Q2. The moderation, according to Bismarck Rewane, managing director/CEO of Financial Derivatives Company (FDC), reflects the lagged impact of easing monetary policy, volatile oil prices, and shifting capital flows.

Two of La Liga’s unbeaten teams meet, as Real Madrid face off against Espanyol looking to preserve their perfect start to the season. Red cards in successive matches have provided the only real wobble in Real Madrid’s impressive start to life under Xabi Alonso (W10, D1, L1) under whom they’ve also won each of their four league matches this season. They even managed to win both games in which they saw those reds, dispatching Real Sociedad 2-1 in league action before defeating Marseille by the same scoreline in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. It’s hard to make many arguments against them making it a hat-trick of wins in the space of almost a week given they’ve won nine of their last ten home league games (L1).
Espanyol have also made a dream start to their domestic campaign, going unbeaten across their opening four La Liga games for the first time since the 2013/14 season. That is an unexpected start for a side that only narrowly avoided relegation last season, with Manolo González looking to lead his Espanyol to six straight unbeaten top-flight games for the first time since a run of nine games between April and May 2019. Having not won any of their last five La Liga matches on their travels though (D2 L3), the standard of the opposition might be a concern here. The visitors won the last H2H by a 1-0 scoreline, but that was the only time they’ve beaten Real Madrid in the last five meetings (L4). They have also not won an away fixture against the Spanish giants since April 1996!

Stardom Cum Time_Every Negativity - Blessing In Disguise
Country singer-songwriter Brett James dies in small plane crash: Brett James, 57, released one solo album in the 1990s but was better known for the hundreds of songs he worked on behind the scenes. US singer-songwriter Brett James has died in a small plane crash, according to music industry officials. James, 57, released one solo album in the 1990s but was better known for the hundreds of country songs he worked on behind the scenes. His most famous was Jesus, Take The Wheel by Carrie Underwood, which earned him two Grammys for best country song and best female country vocal performance in 2007. The country musician was on board a "small engine airplane" when it crashed on Thursday, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame said in a statement. James was well known in the country music scene, working with major artists including Billy Ray Cyrus, Kenny Chesney, and Martina McBride.
His work on Jessica Andrews's song Who I Am in 2001 earned him his first number one single.
Among his other accolades were the Academy of Country Music (ACM) single of the year, the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) country song of the year, and NSAI song of the year.

Giving For Enterprise Karma For Deceptive Givings
Cash transfer: FG pays N330bn to 8.1m households: The Federal Government has announced that it has disbursed a total of N330bn to 8.1 million households across the country under the National Social Safety Net Programme, aimed at cushioning the harsh effects of economic reforms on Nigeria’s poorest and most vulnerable citizens. Out of the 19.7 million households captured in the National Social Register—representing about 70 million Nigerians—8.1 million households have already received at least one tranche of the N25,000 stipend. Some beneficiaries have received two or three payments depending on verification outcomes. The programme, partially supported by an $800m World Bank loan, has become the foundation for building a modern, transparent, and sustainable social protection system in Nigeria. It has been pointed out that the programme’s scope had been expanded from an initial target of 15 million households to 19.7 million, underlining the government’s determination to shield low-income Nigerians from the impact of subsidy removal and currency reforms. A regional breakdown revealed that the North-West received the largest share with three million households, accounting for 72 per cent of disbursements, while the South accounted for 28 per cent. According to JAWASI, The Fund urged the government to ensure that resources freed up by reforms are directed into priority investments that directly benefit all citizens.

2027: We must save Nigerians from APC – Kenneth Okonkwo
Lawyer and politician, Kenneth Okonkwo, has criticized President Bola Tinubu for vacationing in Paris while Nigerians face worsening hardship, insecurity, and failing public services. Okonkwo described Nigeria as “a country in distress,” citing widespread instability across critical sectors.“People are dying in Zamfara, people are dying in Katsina, yet the President says he is going on work leave,” Okonkwo said. “There is no part of Nigeria today where you can confidently promote tourism or create an enabling environment for work.”
He noted that the education and healthcare systems are on the brink of collapse, with unions threatening fresh strikes, while oil industry contractors remain unpaid since 2024.
“Look at what is happening with NEPA, look at our educational system where ASUU is threatening another strike, clear evidence of instability in education. Doctors and nurses are also threatening to strike, exposing the instability in healthcare,” he stated.
The lawyer further warned that the level of suffering in the country has reached alarming levels. “Today, Nigeria has more malnourished children than Sudan. Just recently, a woman lost her child to malaria because she could not afford transport to the hospital.
“This is the level of suffering Nigerians are enduring,” he lamented.
Okonkwo accused the President of ignoring the troubles of citizens while enjoying luxury abroad.
“Any nation where education, healthcare, and infrastructure are collapsing is a country in distress. Yet, in the face of this crisis, the President is vacationing in Paris, wearing the finest suits, and laughing while Nigerians wallow in poverty and pain. “Nigerians must be saved from the APC,” he declared.
